About us
Community Correctional Services (CCS) is a state-wide service providing for the management of offenders on court orders, serious sex offenders on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole. In this role CCS helps offenders break the cycle of offending, ensures court and parole order conditions are met and, where they are not, prosecutes breaches in court or engages the relevant statutory bodies such as the Adult Parole Board and Post Sentence Authority. CCS plays a vital role in contributing to the safety of the community by:
- Applying case management practice that reduces reoffending,
- Engaging offenders to build responsibility, and
- Connecting offenders to programs, services and community.
About the role
As the Manager Court Practice, you will be responsible for overseeing operations at Werribee community correctional services, including providing direct supervision and oversight of Advanced Practitioners and Supervisors of court assessment and prosecutions services (CAPS). This role will provide support and guidance to highly skilled and experienced case management and CAPS practitioners on mitigating risk through evidence-based practices.
This role will also support case management practitioners to strengthen existing transitional practices to improve outcomes for complex and high-risk offenders who are subject to a Community Correction Order. This role will also contribute to the development of partnerships with local community services, including Courts and local Police.
You will be required to participate in the “on call” after hours Duty Director roster as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- extensive case management experience with complex and high risk clients as well as expertise in best practice risk minimisation and therapeutic initiatives
- experience in managing teams and resources ensuring smooth delivery of services
- teamwork and leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse group of staff with varied experience
- a strong operational lens with the ability to monitor financial performance, resource and staffing requirements.
A relevant qualification in social work, human services or criminal justice discipline, with work experience in a similar field is also desirable.
