The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Video Conferencing Coordinator to provide a critical role within Video Conferencing Coordination Unit.
About the Business Unit
The Video Conferencing Coordination Unit (VCCU) supports the work of the Sentence Management Division within Corrections Victoria and is responsible for the coordination of all video conferences/Audio Visual Links (AVL) where a prisoner is involved, including but not limited to: court appearances (TeleCourt), conferences with legal representatives and court ordered assessments.
About the Role
Some of your duties will include:
Working closely with prison staff and senior stakeholders, including court registry staff and the legal profession, the Coordinator, is responsible for the coordination of senior functions within the unit. This position has staff management responsibility.
The VCCU operate on a rotating fortnightly roster that adheres to current prison rostering principles and will require work between 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Provide leadership to a team to manage an operational stream within the unit with the objective to deliver the video conferencing function across Victoria's prison network.
- Use high-level organisational knowledge and capabilities to develop an agreed daily video conferencing schedule for each prison location to maximise efficiencies for the system.
- Negotiate with senior stakeholders at prisons, courts and within the legal profession, to provide authoritative advice on video conferencing best-practice in Victoria's prisons, including scheduling and operational matters.
- Liaise with corrections staff regarding court outcomes and upcoming TeleCourt appearances.
- Provide high-level advice and analysis to senior DJCS stakeholders regarding video conferencing and identify issues and propose systemic solutions as they arise.
