About us
Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connect individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole.
About the role
As a Court Assessment and Prosecutions Officer based in the court practice stream, you will apply relevant court services work practices, including conducting assessments to determine an offenders' suitability for a court order, facilitating order variations and prosecuting offenders who fail to comply with their orders.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- experience or knowledge of court processes, prosecutions or related areas
- an ability to provide human services in needs assessment and development of interventions
- capability to provide evidence-based advice and recommendations to the court that maximise offender responsiveness interventions
- strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- an ability to manage offenders exhibiting challenging behaviours and escalate as required.
A relevant qualification in social work, law, human services, criminal justice or criminology and experience in a court advice, assessments or prosecutions field is also desirable.
