About us
Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connecting individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and people on parole.
The majority of individuals on Community Corrections Orders (CCOs) are required to undertake unpaid community work as a condition of their order. Community Work and Partnerships is one of four service delivery streams within CCS. We are responsible for the development of mutually beneficial partnerships with government agencies and non-government organisations so that individuals who have offended can undertake unpaid work as part of their community based sentence imposed by the Courts of Victoria. About the role
As the Community Work Officer, you will be responsible for providing community work opportunities and contracts to enable individuals to complete their community work hours and orders successfully. You will administer relevant community work practices including monitoring attendance and compliance with requirements at community work placements and contracting individuals to appropriate local community work sites.
You will build and maintain effective relationships with Community Work Supervisors (field staff), community work partners and other relevant stakeholders, produce reports and standard documentation in line with procedural guidelines and undertake on-site risk assessments or other occupational health and safety processes as required.
We are currently recruiting two full time, ongoing positions: one position will be required to work Sundays and four weekdays (e.g. Sunday to Thursday), and one position which will involve primarily Monday to Friday work, with the potential to work weekends. Rosters are subject to change and successful candidates are required to be flexible to business needs.
The Community Work Officer will be primarily based at Dandenong although may be required to work in other locations across the South East Metropolitan region as required. Penalty rates will be paid for work performed on weekends.
To be successful in this role you will:

- be able to self-manage, using available information to make sound, timely and well informed decisions
- be flexible and adaptable to change
- have computer proficiency, including in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, electronic document management systems and internal databases.
Relevant experience in a related community services, not for profit or community development field is also desirable.
