FIS provides evidence-based screening, assessment and intervention services for individuals in custody and the community. We focus on areas such as violent and sexual offending, restorative justice, violent extremism and family violence.
We're seeking experienced professionals in psychology, social work, mental health nursing or occupational therapy to join our growing team of forensic clinicians based in Lara. Forensic clinical experience is desirable but not essential.
As part of our Barwon SW team, you will treat complex cases across a precinct of four mixed-security prisons, including the brand-new Western Plains prison set to open in mid-2025.

What you'll do
As a forensic clinician, you will build on your existing expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will deliver evidence-based, best-practice forensic intervention in a supportive correctional environment.
Working within the risk-needs-responsivity model, you will deliver a wide range of individualised services including:
- Comprehensive assessments, including risk assessments.
- Clinical interviews to develop person-centred rehabilitation pathways.
- Treatment interventions employing evidence-based assessment tools.
- Treatment programs involving individual and group sessions.
- Preparing treatment plans, treatment reports and risk assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Eligibility
To apply for this role, you'll need to hold or be eligible for, one of the following:
- General registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Credentialed as a mental health nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
- Registered as an occupational therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.
