About Community Correctional Services (CCS)
Community Correctional Services (CCS), part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety, plays a critical role in reducing reoffending and protecting the community. We manage individuals on court orders, people subject to post-sentence supervision for serious sexual offences, and individuals on parole. Our work connects people to targeted programs, services and supports that address risk and promote positive change.
About the Role
CCS Loddon Mallee Region is currently recruiting for three positions, based in Mildura and Swan Hill:
- 1 x Full-Time, Ongoing – Swan Hill
- 1 x Full-Time, Ongoing – Mildura
- 1 x Full-Time, Fixed-Term (to May 2027) – Mildura
This is a dynamic dual-role position combining:
- Court assessment and prosecution responsibilities, and
- Evidence-based case management of medium to high-risk individuals
You will:
- Conduct court assessments to determine suitability for court orders
- Facilitate variations and cancellations of orders
- Prosecute breaches of community correction orders
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice to the judiciary
- Manage a caseload of individuals assessed as medium or high risk of reoffending
- Apply structured risk assessment and intervention strategies
- Engage and motivate individuals to complete their orders successfully
- Balance rehabilitation outcomes with community safety considerations
This role suits professionals who are confident in court environments, skilled in managing complexity, and motivated by meaningful community impact.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Experience or sound understanding of effective case management practice, including working with complex individuals and managing risk
- The ability to model pro-social behaviour and positively influence others
- Experience or understanding of court processes, prosecutions, or related fields
- Confidence and professionalism when working with challenging behaviours
- Strong communication skills and sound professional judgement
A qualification in social work, law, human services, criminology or criminal justice is desirable. Experience in court advice, assessments or prosecutions is highly regarded.
