Western Plains Correctional Centre (Western Plains) is Victoria's newest maximum-security correctional facility, designed to house up to 1,248 people in custody.
Western Plains is a multi-purpose facility that adapts to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria. It features purpose-built modern amenities including medical wards, a cultural centre and vocational training facilities. It also utilises cutting-edge technology to keep the facility secure, allowing staff to focus on supporting the rehabilitation of people in custody.
Western Plains will open mid-2025 and Corrections Victoria are now recruiting key roles to help shape the future operations of the facility.
About the role
The Workforce Analysis and Insights Officer forms a part of the Workforce and Prison Services (WPS) team at Western Plains. It is a crucial planning role that helps to ensure that staff are in the right roles, at the right place, at the right time.
As the Workforce Analysis and Insights Officer, you will provide administrative support and expert advice regarding workforce capability and capacity at the facility. You collaborate with a team of professionals - including learning and development specialists, workforce engagement specialists and operational staff – to support workforce planning for the development and commissioning of Western Plains.
The role includes the analysis and reporting of data to help Western Plains meet its workforce objectives now and into the future.
About you
You have experience in data and trend analysis. You're great at turning information into reports and working with partners to identify workforce challenges and evidence-based solutions. Your strong written and verbal communication skills make it easy to develop positive, productive working partnerships. As a collaborative team player, you will;
- Plan staff deployment, shift arrangement and staff rotation across the facility
- Apply your advanced technology skills to manage complex spreadsheet and database functions
A qualification in human resource management or strategic workforce planning is desirable but not required.
