About us
Community Correctional Services (CCS) is a state-wide service providing for the management of offenders on court orders, serious sex offenders on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole. In this role CCS helps offenders break the cycle of offending, ensures court and parole order conditions are met and, where they are not, prosecutes breaches in court or engages the Adult Parole Board.
CCS plays a vital role in contributing to the safety of the community by:
- Applying case management practice that reduces reoffending,
- Engaging offenders to build responsibility, and
- Connecting offenders to programs, services and community.
About the role
Advanced Case Managers within the Court Practice stream are responsible for applying evidence-based case management practices to offenders with complex needs and those who have committed serious offences.
Advanced Case Managers will manage a case load of offenders on court orders. This involves conducting risk assessments, preparing case plans, providing interventions, proactively challenging offending behaviours, addressing the underlying factors in offending whilst directing and monitoring compliance with court order obligations. This role must also support offenders to successfully complete their court orders, while balancing risks to community safety.
Advanced Case Managers are also responsible for enhancing the court practice streams capacity to provide a high standard of practice, fostering good working relationships and providing guidance, mentoring and support to team members.
About you
This role will necessitate that Advanced Case Managers demonstrate exceptional offender engagement and case management skills, including sound interviewing skills and establishment of goals and objectives within the supervision process. In addition, it is expected that Advanced Case Managers possess strong written skills demonstrated through the ability to prepare high quality reports for internal and external correspondence, in particular for the judiciary.
This role will also contribute to a strengthened and integrated through-care approach for offenders transitioning from prison onto court orders, through close partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
