Corrections Victoria's purpose is to deliver an effective corrections system for a safe community. As a service within the Department of Justice, Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs, and services to ensure that safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

Corrections Victoria is currently experiencing rapid growth in the offender population. In response to this, Corrections Victoria will embed evidence based practice across all areas of our work and target responses to the areas that will allow the greatest impacts to be made. Corrections Victoria has a Reintegration Pathway which provides programs that are responsive to each prisoner's transitional needs, including reintegration back into the community.

About the role

Based at Beechworth Correctional Centre , you will support Corrections Victoria in providing quality case management of prisoners, who have specific needs or may be of a high profile due to their offending history. The Case Management Coordinator assists the Offender Management Supervisor by coordinating the case management function.

In the role, you will:

  • Interview, assess and report on prisoners to the Offender Management Supervisor.
  • Chair Case Management Review Committee (CMRC) prisoner quarterly reviews.
  • Case manage special category prisoners.
  • Maintain high quality documentation in relation to case files, prisoner assessments and report preparation.
  • Participate in weekly CMRC and Intake meetings.
  • Interview, assess and report on high profile prisoners to the Assessment Transition Coordinator
