About us

Corrections Victoria's purpose is to deliver an effective corrections system for a safe community. Community Correctional Services (CCS), is overseen by Corrections Victoria, a division of the Department of Justice and Regulation. CCS is responsible for the management and supervision of prisoners on parole, clients under post sentence supervision and court orders.

CCS is currently experiencing rapid growth in the offender population. In response to this, Corrections Victoria has embed evidence based practice across all areas of our work and target responses to the areas that will allow the greatest impacts to be made. This approach contributes to a safer community and strengthen CCS for the future.

CCS has transitioned to a new structure divided into four best practice streams including: Court Practice, Parole and Specialist Practice, Practice Standards and Community Work and Partnerships, each with its own dedicated function.

About the role

Based in Morwell in the Gippsland area, you will coach new field officers and induct them to the role. As you will also perform the duties and functions of a field officer, you will transport up to 11 offenders to local community work sites and supervise their community work activities. Acting as a role model, you will promote the benefits of community work.

Days of work will be full-time from Tuesday to Saturday.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have proven experience in providing inductions, coaching or workplace instruction
  • Be a role model in pro-social behaviours
  • Deliver training to offenders so they develop new skills
  • Provide a safe work site by ensuring strict compliance to OHS requirements
  • Manage offenders exhibiting challenging behaviours and escalate as required
  • Hold a current and full Victorian driver's licence (To be eligible, candidate must hold a P2 licence or above)
  • Be willing and experienced in driving a 12 seater minibus with a trailer.
