Prisoners on remand are alleged offenders who were not bailed when charged with a crime and are awaiting the outcome of their court case.

Further information on MRC can be found here.

About the role

As the Payroll Administration Officer, you will provide confidential, administrative support to the HR team. This will include:

  • maintaining personnel and payroll functions for the MRC
  • entering salary data into the chris21 payroll system and hours worked into TimeTarget, and preparing fortnightly reconciliations against the roster
  • preparing updates and maintaining staff rosters
  • assisting in the ongoing review and monitoring of rostering procedures and practices within the prison
  • preparing the daily Duty Roster Book and adjusting entries as needed
  • assisting with the processing of WorkCover claims
  • providing advice to MRC staff on personnel matters, such as entitlements, responsibilities, study leave, etc.

Please note: Whilst this role will initially and primarily support the MRC's human resources function, over time, and with appropriate support and training, you may be rotated between other administrative support functions within the facility to provide career enhancement opportunities and operational flexibility to the prison. You may also be required to work weekends and public holidays, which will be remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • payroll and/or rostering experience (chris21 and/or TimeTarget is desirable, but not essential)
  • a commitment to providing exceptional custoner service
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • strong attention to detail, with a flexible and adaptable approach to your work
  • a positive attitude, with a strong focus on working collaboratively with other members of your team.
