About us

The Dame Phyllis Frost Centre is a 512 bed medium to maximum security facility for female offenders located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Regulation.

At the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC), each Justice Officer role specialises in one of four streams – Records/Property, Human Resources, Finance/Stores and Administration. Over time, and with appropriate support and training, Justice Officers may be rotated between these streams to provide career enhancement opportunities to those staff, and operational flexibility to the prison.

About the role

As the Justice Officer – Property and Records, you will work across the prisoner property area and records area, and may be rotated between them. This role involves the handling, processing, storage and retrieval of prisoner property and providing advice to prisoners and other stakeholders on legislation and/or policy regarding appropriate property. The records area is responsible for processing new prisoners into the prison and the release of existing prisoners to freedom or for court appearances.

3 positions are available. 2 positions are on a rotating roster which includes work on weekends and public holidays. The third position is full time Monday - Friday. These roles will require direct prisoner contact.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • well-developed computer literacy
  • good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
  • understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records and associated legal implications of documents handed down by the courts.
