Specialist Case Managers (SCMs) are responsible for delivering high quality case management to a caseload of the highest priority sex offenders, under correctional supervision. SCMs will be responsible for ensuring that the nature of sex offender management aligns with best practice initiatives, including managing offenders in line with Corrections Victoria's Offender Management Framework.

The case management role will necessitate that SCMs demonstrate outstanding offender engagement and case management skills, including excellent motivational interaction interviewing techniques and establishment of goals and objectives within the supervision process to form the quarterly Individual Management Plans. 

In addition, it is expected that the SCM will possess excellent writing skills demonstrated through the ability to prepare Departmental and Ministerial briefings, general external correspondence and reports to key stakeholders, in particular the Post Sentence Authority. SCMs will also be responsible for the meticulous management of offender files.

SCMs will also contribute to a strengthened and integrated through-care approach, including the transition process from imprisonment to the community, through close partnership with internal and external stakeholders, with an overarching emphasis on community safety.

SCMs may be required to work flexible hours or shift work, including weekends and public holidays, and attend call outs as required. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016.

A degree or qualification in a relevant Social Science discipline is desirable.
