An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Practitioner on a fixed term, full time basis in Offender Management unit at Corella Place.

Corella Place is a Transitional Accommodation Facility that enhances the protection of the community by providing accommodation for sex offenders when suitable accommodation elsewhere in the community is not available.

The Principal Practitioner will require broad and extensive case management expertise for oversight of case management practices and the capability to provide effective staff supervision, training and mentoring across a service stream of prisoners on parole, including violent and sexual offenders and post-sentence supervision. The Principal Practitioner reports to the General Manager, Corella   Place and is a key position in the regional and CCS management structure providing supervision of case managers monitoring prisoners on parole and offenders subject to post-sentence supervision.

The position provides advice and consultation in relation to identified offender risk escalation behaviours, incident management and quality assurance practices and processes. This level of oversight occurs through line management by the Regional Director (RD) and Regional General Managers (RGM) or General Manager, Corella Place, and the role works in close consultation with Operations Managers (OM), clinical experts and staff from Corrections Victoria's (CV) Head Office.

The Principal Practitioner works closely and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Adult Parole Board, Victoria Police, the Major Offenders Unit, Sex Offender Management Branch, Parole Central Oversight Unit, Corella Place, prison General Managers and other business units within the region.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in the case management of complex and/or high risk individuals.
  • Expert understanding of and experience in best practice initiatives in relation to risk management and therapeutic work with high risk and complex individuals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working within a legislative framework.
