The Department of Justice and Community Safety is currently seeking a Project and Maintenance Supervisor to provide a critical role at H.M.Prison Dhurringile.
About the business unit
Corrections Victoria is a business unit of the Department of Justice and Community Safety and is responsible for the management of prisons and community correctional services in Victoria.
The Hume Region delivers a range of services through Justice Service Centres at Wangaratta, Shepparton, and Wodonga and at outreach locations in Myrtleford, Benalla, Cobram, Seymour, Mansfield, and Corryong. The region also has two prisons, the minimum-security Beechworth Correctional Centre, and H.M. Prison Dhurringile.
About the role
The Project and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing projects, including Asset and Infrastructure Funding Tool (AIFT) funded projects, infrastructure upgrades and maintenance to H.M. Prison Dhurringile.
The role will supervise maintenance and refurbishment projects within H.M. Prison Dhurringile in consultation with the Infrastructure Manager and the General Manager.
Some of the duties of the Project and Maintenance Supervisor will include:
- Plan and coordinate a range of maintenance, refurbishment and other projects, project implementation, undertaking all procurement activity, scope of work activities and asset management processes as appropriate.
- Supervise a small team in the quality delivery of maintenance, refurbishment, and maintenance projects, planning and prioritising the team's workload and supporting team members' ongoing training and development.
- Supporting team members in the supervision of prisoners.
This position may require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have A good understanding of the prison environment, maintenance, and procurement processes.
Qualifications
- Completion of the Corrections Victoria Prison Officer Pre-Training Program.
- Relevant qualifications in project management or a related field would be advantageous.
- Trade qualification in Electrical or Plumbing would be highly regarded.
