About us

The Grampians Region provides services at Justice Service Centres in Ballarat and Horsham and at outreach locations in Stawell, Ararat and St Arnaud. The region also has two prisons, the medium security Hopkins Correctional Centre and the minimum security H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal.

Hopkins Correctional Centre (HCC) is medium security facility for prisoners with protection requirements, including a number of sex offenders and some remand prisoners. HCC is one of the first prisons in Victoria to combine community-style prison design with the Better Living Model, an innovative case management model for prisoner management.

About the role

As Human Resources Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the effective delivery of a range of human resource functions for Hopkins Correctional Centre and other stakeholders within the Grampians Region.

In the role, you will:

  • manage the administration of the full recruitment process, from phone screens, interviews, reference checking and onboarding
  • be the first point of contact for all HR enquiries via phone and email
  • ensure general HR administration duties are carried out and you will manage the Human Resources Information System (CHRIS21)
  • process WorkCover claims and maintain accurate information for each claim
  • assist on project work and ad-hoc reporting, as well as maintaining policies and procedures.

  • savvy computer knowledge and skills
  • experience providing high quality service to stakeholders and experience in meeting delivery standards

Previous professional experience in either a recruitment, administration or HR related role or a tertiary qualification in a HR related discipline is desirable.
