These services include barrier control, emergency management, incident response, emergency management planning, K9 services, high security escorts, fire awareness services, urinalysis, and correctional staff training.

About the role

As a Supervisor within the SESG, you will lead and manage staff to achieve program and service outcomes in a multidisciplinary team and rehabilitative environment. This multifaceted role encompasses human resource management, coaching and developing staff, OH&S requirements, EEO legislation responsibilities, staff employment and training requirements, and budget monitoring.

The role plays an integral part in developing, implementing, reinforcing and reviewing practice and procedures relating to offender management and security management. The Supervisor actively leads working parties and reference groups, and provides advice through written reports to senior management.

Custodial duties involve directing and supervising teams in conducting searches and escorts, surveillance, observing and assessing prisoner behaviour, operating a variety of security equipment, and collating information.

The SESG have 7 x Operational Supervisor positions vacant across various SESG locations including HMP Barwon, the Metropolitan Remand Centre and Loddon Prison Precinct.

  • the ability to design and deliver training courses to both correctional services staff and private organisations as required
