About us
Department of Justice and Community Safety is building a new maximum-security prison, which is due to commence operations in 2022. The prison is an essential part of the government's commitment to improving community safety and will be built near the existing HM Barwon Prison, Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga (the annex to Marngoneet).
With these four prisons in proximity, Corrections Victoria has committed to establishing the Barwon Precinct, which will see shared operating models developed between these prisons to improve prisoner outcomes and create efficiencies.
About the role
The Wellbeing and Return to Work Advisor is an integral member of the Barwon South West Region's Human Resources team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of WorkCover information, Return to Work (RTW) daily processes, and the day-to-day delivery of effective quality payroll and human resource service to employees with WorkCover claims.
This includes case managing the RTW component of allocated WorkCover claims, developing specific local strategies for allocated claims, as well as implementing workplace health and wellbeing initiative, which focus on prevention and early intervention.
You will support the Wellbeing and Return to Work Coordinator with administration, support with claims and ensuring information is entered onto the relevant systems (CHRIS21 and Time Target 50) to meet payroll and WorkCover timeframes, and provide the Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) for processing through payroll.
The position will work closely and collaboratively with the Wellbeing and Return to Work Coordinator along with the People and Workplace Services team and external providers to ensure service delivery to our stakeholders.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- an understanding of Victorian Accident Compensation Legislation and PIAWE
- demonstrated knowledge of RTW and rehabilitation of injured employees
- experience and knowledge of CHRIS21 and/or other payroll systems
- a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A qualification in RTW (or the willingness to obtain such a qualification) would be advantageous.
