About us

The Offender Management Division of Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for managing the movement of prisoners through the system, for reducing reoffending by assessing risk to inform case management and intervention pathways, and for delivery of programs and services that engage offenders in positive behavioural change, ensuring that all programs are delivered to the highest standards and best practice is maintained.

About the role

As the Program Officer, you will mentor, coach and provide technical expertise and quality assurance to CV staff in prisons and Community Correctional Services across the state in the administration of a risk assessment tool. You will be required to assist in the implementation and documentation of processes, ensuring operational guidelines are up to date, as well as provide adequate information to ensure integrity of the risk assessment process.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • a demonstrated knowledge of the philosophy, operating procedures and manuals, CV's vision, direction and developments in correctional services and the Victorian criminal justice system
  • a demonstrated experience in interviewing complex/difficult individuals in order to complete an assessment recommending further interventions
  • excellent presentation skills, with the ability to lead discussions in a group setting
  • strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills in order to achieve organisational objectives.

A minimum of two years' case management experience in a relevant field would be desirable.
