About us

The Commercial Services division provides the Corrections and Justice Services group with expert financial, commercial and performance advisory services and leads engagement with other parts of the Department of Justice and Community Safety on matters including finance, infrastructure, technology and data analysis.

The Contracts and Infrastructure branch is responsible for contract management, commercial oversight and advisory services, as well as the effective management and maintenance of all Corrections and Justice Services prisons and related infrastructure. 

About the role

As the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • developing business cases, feasibility and option papers for high value and/or high-risk infrastructure projects, new builds, expansion and upgrade projects
  • developing user guides, standards, frameworks and policies
  • playing a key role in the development of the 10-year infrastructure strategy for the group's assets
  • negotiating and liaising with senior managers, external government agencies and service providers on a range of program development and delivery issues
  • working collaboratively within a team of multidisciplinary project managers and technical experts, providing project management, expert advice and guidance to project team members.

This is a fixed-term position until October 2022.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • experience in coordinating and developing business cases, including feasibility/options papers for infrastructure projects
  • experience in developing manuals, procedures, guidelines and operational reference guides to high professional standards
  • outstanding writing, editing, communication and presentation skills, including knowledge of technical documentation principles
  • proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels.
