Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's corrections system, which incorporates prisons and Community Correctional Services. As a service agency within the Department of Justice and Regulation, CV develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

The Business Services Division provides Corrections Victoria (CV) Head Office with high quality and timely business support services in the areas of Grants and Procurement, Contract Management, Finance and Accounting, Asset Management services and IT support.

Corrections Applications Technology Services (CATS) is a business unit within CV that is responsible for sourcing, implementing, maintaining and supporting business solutions and technology essential to the day-to-day operations of CV.

CATS operates a program and project delivery area responsible for managing CV's portfolio of strategic technology projects. This area works across the portfolio to provide policy, guidance and support in relation to program and project management, including continuous improvement in project management standards, governance and reporting capabilities.

The Business Analyst will contribute to building and improving the team's maturity and capability of CATS by supporting, mentoring and helping source suitable future business analyst resources.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the planning, workshop facilitation, identification/elicitation, documentation, review and analysis to produce business cases, business requirements, business processes (as-is and to-be), and related project documentation as necessary.
  • Experienced in developing and understanding process diagrams, use-cases, data flows, ER diagrams, user screen designs, and related documentation as necessary.
  • Experienced in supporting and participating in the planning, preparation and execution of user acceptance testing.
  • Experienced in supporting and implementing the hand-over to BAU of new business solutions, business processes, procedures and policies.
