An interesting ongoing opportunity is available for a Senior Assessments Coordinator in the Post Sentence Branch of Corrections Victoria (CV).

Corrections Victoria's Post Sentence Branch (formerly Sex Offender Management Branch) was established in 2006 in order to provide a coordinated and integrated approach to the management of post-sentence sex offenders across both prison services and community corrections. The branch is responsible for key elements of sex offender management within the organisation and comprises a number of functional areas including policy and project management, assessment and treatment, and operations.

The Post Sentence Branch, within the Offender Management Division of CV, provides central oversight and governance of the post sentence scheme and offenders subject to post sentence orders. It is intended that the scheme will be expanded to serious violent offenders in 2018, upon the commencement of the Serious Offenders Act 2018.

The overriding role of the Senior Assessments Coordinator is to provide support to the team who are responsible for ensuring that all offenders convicted of a relevant offence are assessed to determine eligibility for supervision and that recommendations are based on thorough consideration of appropriate information by the relevant DSO Review Board. This role will work both independently and in a team context, in a dynamic operational environment.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to work within a highly complex service delivery area, preferably in relation to individuals with multiple and complex needs and/or within a legislative framework
  • Ability to be highly organised with a ‘can do' attitude
  • Knowledge and experience working within a complex legislative environment
