The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Project Officer to provide a critical role within the Digital Operations Unit
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's prison system and Post Sentence Scheme.
The Digital Operations Unit (DOU) provides a strategic focus and drives innovation, enhances governance and ensures continuous improvement as it relates to in cell technology at Corrections Victoria. DOU leads identification and prioritisation according to system needs and assists Technology Solutions and Digital Security (TSDS) in the development and implementation of new technologies that enhance operational efficiency, security and opportunities for rehabilitation and reintegration for people in custody.
The DOU works with location staff and prison intelligence units to proactively identify and address potential risks through robust oversight and regular audits to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Operations Unit the role will encapsulate business support of the Digital Operations team. The work is varied and diverse and can change day-to-day, depending on the support that is required. The Project Officer may be required to consider operational issues and identify solutions, undertake data entry and analysis, prepare a range of written material, and respond to a range of requests for information.
Please note this role will require regular travel to CV locations.
Some of your duties will include:
- Manage content and information within CV business systems including SharePoint, TRIM and E*justice
- Manage all human resources paperwork for the branch and provision of work equipment
- Co-ordinate correspondence and briefings, using an electronic records management system

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Ability to analyse and interpret data and provide analytical reports and advice.
- Knowledge and understanding of Corrections Victoria's prison operations and practices.
- Proficient in the use of CV's systems including PIMS, E*Justice and Centurion and experience in TRIM and EBC is highly desirable.
- Sound knowledge of HR policies and practices within the Victorian Public Sector
Qualifications/requirements
- A current driver's license is required as travel to other offices within the department is required
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams advantageous
