An exciting opportunity exists for a Specialist Case Manager on an ongoing, full time basis in Offender Management unit at Corella Place.

Corella Place is a Transitional Accommodation Facility that enhances the protection of the community by providing accommodation for sex offenders when suitable accommodation elsewhere in the community is not available.

Specialist Case Managers (SCMs) are responsible for delivering high quality case management to a caseload of the highest priority sex offenders, under correctional supervision. SCMs will be responsible for ensuring that the nature of sex offender management aligns with best practice initiatives, including managing offenders in line with the Good Lives Model of Offender Rehabilitation (a strengths-based approach that is one of the underpinnings of Corrections Victoria's Offender Management Framework).

The case management role will necessitate that SCMs demonstrate outstanding offender engagement and case management skills, including excellent motivational interaction interviewing techniques and establishment of goals and objectives within the supervision process to form the quarterly Individual Management Plans.

In addition, it is expected that the SCM will possess excellent writing skills demonstrated through the ability to prepare Departmental and Ministerial briefings, general external correspondence and reports to key stakeholders, in particular the Adult Parole Board. SCMs will also be responsible for the meticulous management of CCS offender files.

SCMs will also contribute to a strengthened and integrated through-care approach, including the transition process from imprisonment to the community, through close partnership with internal and external stakeholders, with an overarching emphasis on community safety. SCMs will also be required to provide advice and mentoring to other correctional staff who are supervising lower priority sex offenders and will contribute to the review of the operationalisation of the SCMM.

SCMs may be required to work flexible hours or shift work, including weekends and public holidays, and attend call outs as required. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Experience in achieving client outcomes through advanced case management of highly complex individuals, including proven needs assessment and intervention skills.
  • Previous experience in working within a legislative framework.
