Your new role

The Local Engagement Officer (LEO) is located in DJCS regional offices and is the interface between the department (including program areas) and funded service providers, including Victim Support, Consumer Affairs Victoria, Corrections Victoria and Aboriginal Justice. The role is focused on establishing collaborative relationships and connections with funded service providers delivering justice services in the region, monitoring their performance and leveraging the relationships with both providers and program areas to contribute to and identify opportunities for place-based services.

Your work will include:

  • Analysing the requirements of individual contacts and evaluating if the agencies are delivering what they have promised.
  • Helping build strong and positive relationships between justice services, local community agencies and local service teams of the department.
  • Advancing opportunities for improvements to service integration through innovative thinking.
  • Preparing comprehensive briefs, including technical reports.
  • Contributing to the design, development and implementation of new initiatives, and the improvement of existing initiatives and services.
  • Regular travel across the Gippsland region.

About You

  • The ability to work with minimal supervision, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated record and data management skills, maintaining up-to-date, complete and accurate records.

Tertiary studies or demonstrated experience that illustrates an understanding of managing complex contractual engagements involving funded service providers and community support services are highly desirable but not mandatory.
