About us

The Justice Assurance and Review Office (JARO) operates as an internal review and assurance function to advise the Secretary, Department of Justice and Regulation (DJR) on the performance of the youth justice and corrections systems. JARO provides the Secretary with high-quality advice on areas of risk and opportunities for improvement across the youth justice and corrections systems. 

About the role

As an Analyst, you will report to the Manager, Information and Analysis and be responsible for monitoring and assessing serious incidents in the youth justice and corrections systems to determine whether JARO should undertake further activities. You will also produces high quality strategic analysis reports on emerging trends and risks relevant to the youth justice and corrections systems. 

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • experience undertaking analysis of complex issues within the criminal justice system and/or within a criminal intelligence analysis environment 
  • excellent written communication skills with the ability to distil analysis of complex issues into clear, succinct and logical findings and recommendations
  • excellent compuetr skills, with the ability to generate insights from complex datasets
  • the ability to learn and adapt to new concepts and apply sound logic to inform decision making.
