About Us

Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's corrections system, which incorporates prisons and Community Correctional Services. As a service agency within the Department of Justice and Regulation, Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

Corrections Victoria manages approximately 59 Community Correctional Services locations across the state and is responsible for managing Victoria's eleven public prisons, and overseeing the contracts relating to the management of three privately operated prisons. In doing so, Corrections Victoria delivers a safe and secure corrections system that actively engages offenders and the community to promote positive behaviour change.

About the Role

Sentence Calculation and Warrant Administration (SCWA), a unit within the Sentence Management Division, is responsible for the interpretation of warrants, the correct calculation of sentences and supporting Corrections Victoria's task of producing individuals to Courts in a timely manner. 

Reporting to a Senior Records Officer, SCWA, the Records Officer is responsible and accountable for providing operational support, sentence calculation, administration of reception and discharge requirements and processing of gaol orders. This role is also responsible for maintaining prisoner records, ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining quality assurance.

SCWA operates shifts on a roster basis, with coverage from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.  This role requires shift work rostered within these hours (noting that staff are rostered for Saturday shifts approximately every third Saturday).
