About us

Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for Corrections Victoria (CV) and its stakeholders, and forms part of the Security and Intelligence Services. The CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU), and intelligence officers located at the public and private prison facilities in Victoria. The CVIU is located at the State-wide Services Building, Ravenhall, Victoria.

About the role

Reporting to the Intelligence and Coordination Manager, as the Corrections Intelligence Officer, your primary role and purpose will be to provide operational support for all intelligence related matters conducted by the CVIU. As the Corrections Intelligence Officer, you will be required to work closely with the Intelligence Analysts and Operational Intelligence Officers, gathering information in order to prevent prisoner escapes, prevent assaults upon staff and prisoners, prevent the introduction and usage of contraband within prisons, and to identify possible prisoner incidents/unrest.

As the Corrections Intelligence Officer you will most likely be based at the Ravenhall State-wide Services Building, however, you may be required to work at a variety of other locations.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • demonstrated ability to use an information management system to collect, store and report on data
  • experience in the use of information management systems (Palantir and/or other data managing technologies is highly desirable)
  • demonstrated knowledge of, or the capacity to learn, computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes and internal CV computer systems, including PIMS and E-Justice.
